A small personal project

I love simple strategy games. So I made one.

I have always enjoyed games like Slay and Antiyoy: a few rules, quick turns, and decisions that matter. Robodrons is my lighter browser version—with ships, ports, airbases, and aircraft.

What I wanted to keep

The map should be easy to read, but every move should leave a problem for the next turn. The new units add routes, not a pile of extra rules.

One hex can break a plan
Cut a province and its economy splits with the territory.
The sea is no longer the edge
A port and transport ship turn a quiet coast into a new front.
Aircraft are an expensive risk
An airbase opens long-range attacks, but every sortie costs fuel and can end badly.

With friends, the simple rules become unpredictable.

Bots teach the systems. People bluff, take offence, make temporary alliances, and attack the coast you stopped watching. That is the real reason I wanted multiplayer.

  • Read the other playersA quiet border may be a trap; a weak player may be waiting for two rivals to clash.
  • Return when everyone is readyThe room stays in the browser; a timer and notifications help a long match keep moving.

If you know Slay or Antiyoy

Robodrons comes from the same love of compact territory strategy. I am not trying to replace those games—only to make my own lighter variation with online play, sea, and air.

GameBest atWhat changes
SlayThe purest formulaMinimal land economy and ruthless cuts. Robodrons keeps that clarity, but adds new routes of attack.
AntiyoyA rich solo gameCampaigns, map editor, and years of polish. Robodrons is smaller and focuses on quick browser rooms.
RobodronsMy lightweight experimentStill a beta: online rooms, province budgets, ships, aircraft, and plenty left to improve.
